Day 01 : Pick up from Bagdogra / Kalimpong / Darjeeling, and drive to Samthar for overnight at Charles Lepcha’s homestay / Tara Bhujel’s Homestay.
Day 02 : Mountain lifestyle : Experience the family household chores and farming routine. May include milking of farm animals, grazing, collecting firewood and fodder, cooking, family get together. Overnight at Charles Lepcha’s homestay / Tara Bhujel’s Homestay
Day 03 : Experiential activities: After breakfast take a forest walk for foraging, and bring back edible roots, ferns and creepers . in the afternoon Learn how to construct a mud Oven, Demonstration of baking sour dough bread, cooking forest food, and local recipes, making millet beer,
Day 04 : Visit Awake & Shine School, Samthar and Samthar Farm House
Conducted tour of Awake and Shine Primary school to see first-hand how experiential learning in laying the foundation for all round development of our children to make them the “change makers of the future”. Enjoy lunch at the atmospheric Samthar Farm House and trek back to your homestay. In the evening join a Lepcha and Nepali song and dance program.
